Welcoming Kay Casson to EMM’s Environmental Planning and Approvals Team

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Kay Casson as an Associate Director – Environmental Planning & Approvals in our Brisbane office.

Kay brings over 19 years of experience in environmental consulting, having worked on a wide range of projects across the transport, water, energy, and waste sectors. Her expertise spans environmental impact assessments, approvals, business cases, and constraints studies for major infrastructure projects across Australia and in Canada. Kay has a strong understanding of environmental issues, and her deep knowledge of Queensland planning and environmental legislation, along with the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, allows her to navigate complex regulatory requirements effectively.

Kay’s appointment strengthens EMM’s expertise in delivering customised, forward-thinking, and sustainable solutions for complex environmental planning and approvals. With a team of over 70 Environmental Planning and Approvals specialists, we collaborate closely with clients to navigate environmental challenges, identify opportunities, and develop planning approval strategies that support project delivery while balancing environmental and social considerations.

Kay holds a Master of Environmental Management and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Zoology. She is also a Member of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ) and a Certified Environmental Practitioner with EIANZ.
